This was the coin that started my passion for the challenge coin hobby.  This was the first coin given to me in 1998 by Air Force Lt. General Phillip Ford.  While attending a B-2 Bomber naming ceremony at Whiteman AFB Lt. General Ford was amongst the VIP's in attendance.  As a young airman I approached General Ford and asked to have a picture taken with him.  After the photo op he reached in his pocket and handed me his STRATCOM coin.  I told him thank you and went on my way.  I really had no idea what I had until I showed it to a couple of the guys back at work. They both tried to talk me out of it!  This coin has led to nearly an 18 year endeavor for collecting these small tokens of our military history.
